If I were to get the same amino acids from plants that are in beef, chicken, and other forms of protein, would I be able to get the same muscle building effects? This is assuming that I eat the plant amino acids within the same quantities as I would the protein.

I'd imagine even if you were getting the same nutritional benefits from a pill or w/e. a Steak would still be better for you :\
You have to have essential amino acids (EAAs) for “muscle building effects". EAAs are derived from meats (animal products) and combinations of grains, nuts, and beans. You can’t get EAAs from plants; unless these plants are from the grains and beans food group.
FYI: Amino acids and EAAs are what protein is made of.
Best of luck and good health!
Amino acids are proteins that have been broken down or pre-digested, where the body can immediately use them for protein synthesis.
