Bad Poison ivy on legs?
About a week ago I went into the woods barefoot and 2 days later I had poison ivy all over my legs and feet. I went to the doctor and was prescribed prednisone and I have now been on it for 2 days. The itching is gone but it doesn't look any better. This is my first time on prednisone and I was just wondering how long it will take for the rash to be gone.

A course of prednisone usually lasts about ten days. The poison ivy spots will last for a couple-three weeks--as long as it isn't itching badly, it should be mostly gone by then. If the itching comes back, try applying plain HOT water to the itchy places--as hot as you can stand it without burning yourself. Soaking a washcloth in very hot water and applying it to new rash or blisters keeps them from itching and keeps you from scratching them--if you scratch until they bleed you'll get a topical infection and it will take a lot longer to go away.
