I recently slept with someone, and I was on my period. I just started this new birth control this month, and I haven't had any issues with it. I have been on birth control for 5 years straight. My boyfriend tried to pull out in time, but he was unsuccessful. My bleeding has slowed to almost a stop, and I'm wondering if I could be pregnant. I started my period on Saturday. I was under the impression the pill was effective even when on your period. Any advice on this topic is welcomed.

You're probably not pregnant. The rumor used to be that immediately after your period was the best time to conceive, but that's not true. It's usually around 14 days after you start your period is when (normally) women ovulate.
However, birth control actually stops ovulation when taken on time every day, and some kinds actually prevent implantation if an egg is fertilized.
Of course, any sexual activity runs the risk of pregnancy, but usually if your on Birth Control, it is extremely unlikely that you will get pregnant.
