I grew up in BC, but lived in Ottawa for many years, and spent a fair bit of time in Quebec. In fact, Quebec City is my favourite city in Canada to visit.

However, I wouldn't want to live there. This is mostly due to the language laws. I, like many, find them draconian - any trip to Montreal will show what other English speaking people think. They've left, and taken their money with them.

BC is more beautiful, and has a better climate. Quebec does have a lot to offer - more culture for sure, and it is a lot cheaper to live there. But, that language policies are a huge downer for me - I chose not to live in Gatineau when I was in Ottawa, even though housing was significantly less (1/2 or even less).

I would like to live in British Columbia because I think Vancouver Island is really awesome.

Well Quebec why? Living in a snowy area with lots of friends to get along is much cooler and easier with the bonds of ice skating, snow boarding or skiing. It's a simple bond that nothing can beat or breaks the fun! the thrill of going down the slopes so fabulous!
