So, I was looking into buying a gaming machine for my brother for his birthday. He plays those high trafficking games like world of warcraft and he always says his computer isn't up to par for those games when he's raiding. However, I wanted to buy him a decent one, but still affordable on my end and not one for 4 grand.
So I found one, finally with decent specs but here's where I'm confused... I know there needs to be dedicated graphics and the computer i'm looking @ comes with a 500GB ATI Radeon HD 5770.. The rest of the machines nice but with today's requirements I would think 1 gig is more efficient..
Ultimately: Is there a way that when I receive it i can program it to have 1 gig dedicated graphics?
Thanks in advance.

You would be doing him a favor to get the 1.0 GB (1024mb) of RAM for his video card. It won't help so much for the game he is playing, especially for WOW, but will keep the rest of the system from bogging down for not having enough memmory. I use a new 1.0GB video card and play GTA 4, instead of it from the X-box 360/PS3 and works great. Also the price difference is almost non existent.
You can also get more high end cards with 1.5-2.0 GB of RAM, though thats overkill.
