Up until He took up His ministry He probably did whatever needed to be done in the village. Carpenters tend to be a creative lot, so if it can be done with wood He probably did it!

Infrastructure? there was very little infrastructure in the small villages Jesus frequented. Infrastructure was saved for large cities of the empires.

LOL! I'd imagine both, wherever the work was. I don't think the Bible really specifies WHO he worked for, only what he did for a living.
