Difference between Canon EOS Rebel G SLR Camera and a Cannon EOS Rebel T3?
What does the G stand for is it still a great purchase ... and take great pictures.

Biggest difeerence is that the Rebel G is a 35mm film camera and the T3 is a digital.
If you want to shoot film - the G is better, for digital the T3 is better. With a decent lens attached both will take great photos in the right hands.

I'd take a Fujifilm S4250 over either of the choices you mentioned, it's a better digital camera than any of Nikon's L - series will ever be and I have all the film cameras I could want.
You do understand that the Rebel G (EOS 500N or EOS Kiss) is an 8 year old 35mm film camera and the T3 is a digital camera, right?

I would definitely take a Rebel G over a P&S camera. Besides, my entire collection of EF series lenses would fit right on it.
