I see with a lot of DSLR cameras that they have several names for 1 model. The only difference i see is the name on the front of the camera.
Are there any significant differences? If any, which would be considered the better model?

For some reason Canon give cameras different names in different markets:
KISS X50 is for the Far East market
EOS1100D is for the European market
Rebel T3 is for the North American market
The cameras are identical except for badges and packaging.
Canon Eos Kiss X50
