Hi folks,
I'm currently facing this problem: I own a External Hard Drive USB 3.0 and my laptop has an eSata port.
I want to connect my HDD though my laptop's eSata port. Is out there any adapter or something that does work?
What I've heard about it is that eSata won't provide power, which is kind of weird because in my toshiba laptot that eSata port is also an USB 2.0 port which does provide power (even while the pc is "sleeping").
I found this adapter online, I'm not sure if it will work fine.... ( http://www.newertech.com/products/esatatousb3.php ).
Remember the point is, eSata laptop's port to USB 3.0 usb devices!!!
Thanks in advance!
Update:sorry, what I wanted to say was: " I want to connect my HDD through my laptop's eSata port"

That adapter will work. eSATA does provide power, but runs at a higher frequency than usb, so it is faster, and so can take slower devices attached to it.
