since the banning of most handguns in the uk, as a direct result of the dunblane massacre, the use of handguns in crime has doubled in about a decade,
despite political and police assurances given at the time that it would zero their use in armed crime, and make everyone a lot safer.
nowadays it's estimated to be a five-fold increase.

It works in the UK at any rate - well, you can see that from the statistics. Amazing how many of the other answerers haven't read the actual question.
No. It means less VIOLENT crime. Bernie Madoff pulled off one of the biggest crimes of the past forty years, and no guns were involved. The banking industry caused the financial meltdown we're still struggling to recover from, and no guns were involved (and the *ucktards haven't been imprisoned, either). The VA has let dozens of veterans die without medical help - and for this veteran, that's one major crime - but with no guns involved.
I know damn well you can come up with a list of serious crimes that's longer than you are tall. But the nation would a be a far finer and more peaceful place without so goddamn many guns in private hands! Summitch robs me, I can recover - but if he shoots me to death, ain't no recovery...
Not at all. Often times, you will see more gun crime where there are stricter gun control laws.
Usually. Criminals find it hard to commit crimes with guns when they can't get their hands on guns.
Less guns does not equal less crime.
Yes, indeed.
less gun crime yes, less violent crime not on your life. look up the statistics, the UK is the most violent country in the UK, with violent crime rates above that of the US, Look it up.
so if you don't mind being killed as long as it's not with a gun, the UK is the place to be,
It hasnt worked well in Australia. or ANY of the NO gun zones cities.. The UK may brag about no guns, butboy,, do they have a high rate of crime for that little Country, Swords and machetes work well there....
It works for us here in the UK. But in the US, unfortunately, dead kids do not trump constitutional rights.
