10x^6 + 8x^4
-------------------
2x^2
Help me solve the problem WITH showing the work. Please and thank you
10x^6+8x^4/2x^2
2x^2(5x^4+4x^2)/2x^2
=5x^4+4x^2
factorize the numerator by bringing out 2x^2, then cancel it with the denominator(2x^2) to get the final answer.
Take out the highest common factor in the denominator:
[2x^4(5x^2 + 4)] / 2x^2
Simplify the 2x^4 and 2x^2:
x^2(5x^2 + 4)
OR
5x^4 + 4x^2
—————
NOTE: Remember to only simplify whole brackets or factored out terms, do not simplify through an addition or subtraction sign.
Split it up into 2 fractions
10x^6/2x^2 + 8x^4/2x^2
when you divide two variables with exponents attached to them, subtract the exponents.
also divide the integers
=5x^(6-2) + 4x^(4-2)=
hope this helped
also know that when multiplying 2 numbers with exponents attached to them, you should add the exponents together.
It is a basic problem division on the numbers are normal, & division of the X exponential is done by subtracting [ multiplying is done by adding].
10x^6 + 8x^4 5x^6 + 4x^4
------------------- divide by 2 (top& bottom) = ----------------- divide(subtract) by x^2
2x^2 x^2
= 5x^4 + 4x^2
2x^2(5 x^4+2x^2)
-----------------------
= 5 x^4+2x^2 = x^2 ( 5x^2+2)
