What are benefits of a high pressure fuel pump? and will it increase acceleration or power in anyway. what are the differences both? i am stuck between buying a 20 dollar regular one or a 70 dollar high pressure 255LPH 140psi one. this is for my 89 camaro rs 2.8l. which would u pick?

There is NO gains what so every from a higher pressure pump on stock or mild engines. Get the cheasper std. pump.
When you start to build the engine up, like better flowing heads, better exhaust, turbocharger, etc then and only then do you need more fuel supply. At that point you would need larger fuel supply lines, bigger pump, bigger injectors, fuel pressure reg., etc.
You only need a high pressure fuel pump if you are tricking the motor out. For example, if you are increasing the specification on the fuel injectors. Higher spec fuel injectors often need the fuel pump to be upgraded to supply extra fuel to the bigger injectors.
High spec injectors are normally fitted with turbo or supercharger to get extra fuel into te engine.
There will be no advantage in putting higher pressure behind a standard fuel injector.
You will need to change the pressure regulator and injectors just to get the fuel into the engine. All this for a 2.8L? Not worth it!
in a 2.8, I wouldnt waste my money...LOL
