How do I close an email account?
I want to close an email account. Someone has my email address and is sending pornographic and inappropriate messages to my email contacts. I have business contacts as well as friends that send mail to my account, and at least two people have told me of the filth that appears to come from my account.

It depends on the kind of email.(Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) Normally you can go to settings and find a place that will let you close the account.
its not easy close an email account, the company not like that you leave the services. I also wanted close my messenger account, but early i see its not easy because the online service not said me how can i do for closing the account. this was very difficult, first i sent a message to the company for they could explain me what can i do. Also i ask for internet, in yahoo answers also, but was impossible, nobody could give me the information.
So i decide to attempt forced to they delete my account, so i first sent murder threat to other accounts, porn images, slights and so on. After that i send messages to violated the rules finally my account was delete. I think we no could any problem, the true is i received a visit for the office of FBI, they request me permission for reviewed my computer, "of course, i dont have any to hidden" i said. My mom was cried, seem they said to my parents that probably i was a computer hacker, what a joke. Well finally the suspect finish and i was free, of course they encounter my messages but i explain the reason so was without any problem, sucessfully.
Accounts will close automatically if you wait. They used to close in 4 months of non use. The new policy is 6 months plus 2 months for each year you have been an member.
