Japanese to english translation?
Would anyone translate this phrase for me? ずっと大好きだよ
It was on a photo of Menma & Jinta from the anime Ano Hana. I know the kanji says "love you" but I'm having trouble with what the whole phrase means with "ずっと" & "だよ" is "dayo" just a way to end this phrase just like "desu"? My japanese teacher told us to put for example, "I love apples" 私はりんごが大好きです adding desu to the end to be polite! I want to know if I can also just leave this phrase without the desu too!

ずっと just means forever or continuously.
だよ is informal of ですよ. です being a sentence ender and よ being a spoken exclamation mark.
I love you forever, you know.
dayo = desu yo, just shortened = you know
zutto = very much, forever. This is said all the time in anime.
