So first of all let me start off with that my family from my moms side had a great deal of kidney problems. Out of the 16 (yes I said 16) children my great grandma had, 4 of them Died because of kidney disease, including my own grandma. I am 15 years old. As long as I could remember I've had bad pains in my kidneys (mostly left kidney). It feels like somebody is stabbing at my kidney, and if no one is around, I will have to go lay down, curl up in a ball and will almost always be crying. I've learned to suck it up In front of people. I've gone to the doctors twice and both times they've ended it with "I don't know". Both times they had me do a urine sample. They said it was to rule out the simple stuff that could be causing me pain. First time, they found nothing (wasn't a kidney infection, UTI, etc.) The second time, they said I had a small yeast infection, and that was it and they sent me home with no answers. We'll I got my yeast infection cleared up and that problem was solved and over with, but I still get my bad kidney pains. I probably pee a bit more than the normal person. I have no idea what it his could be, and I feel like my doctor doesn't take me seriously. Is there any special kind of doctor I need to see? Am I at risked of kidney disease because it runs in my family? Should I ask specifically for a kidney disease test? Pls help me! 10 point for the most thorough answer. Thx!

Yes, you need to see a urologist first for some x-rays and blood tests and then if they feel it is kidney disease they will send you to a nephrologist (kidney specialist). You are at risk because of your family history. It's not to say that is the problem here but it should be ruled out. Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong. It could be very easily fixed but you will never know until you tell someone and make an appointment.
