What I have gathered from my readings and asking people this same question is that mostly they will train when they are ready. I read my daughter the potty book, and bought a little potty and put it in my living room. When changing her diaper I would always sit her on it before putting on a new one. I also did this first thing in the morning. If her diaper was dry for a while I would sit her on the potty and read a book to her. By four she should know when she has to go. My daughter was potty trained before she was two. If you have any advice on potty training my son I would appreciate it, he is going to be tricky.
I have a 4 year old boy who is currently not 100% potty-trained either. He is well on his way...but he still has trouble. What I have been doing is buying some cheap (dollar store) prizes, and telling him that if he goes #2 in the potty, then he will get to pick out a prize. This seems to be working pretty well. He has been going regularly, with only a few accidents here and there. I am nervous too, because he is supposed to be starting pre-school this fall and he is yet to be 100% trained. Good luck!! :)
Look..... I have ran a daycare for many years, and you have to make going to the potty fun we have a girl who is 4 and what her parents do is put her in a easy summer sun dress and training panies it makes her feel like a big girl and she is the same way you have to really encourage and praise her to do it....and when she does we have a small jar of her favorite snack like animal crackers or those dumdum suckers and everytime she goes number 2 you give her one to put in a seperate jar that has her name on it and if she goes 2 she gets to eat one at the end of the day but if she goes number 2 in her panties she gets her suckers taken away!!!! this should help!!
I actually couldn't tell you how. I was always one of those people who thought that I would have my daughter potty trained early. Wrong she was 4 yrs old. I brought her baby sister home from the hospital and bam she went to the bathroom. Without me hounding her and telling her that she wasn't going to be able to go to school. They seem to just learn on their own. Good Luck and don't stress she will figure it out.
oh boy you have your hands full just keep working with her somethings bound to work. have you ever tried sitting her on the potty first thing in the morning & before bedtime? if not i bet she will go for you try that for awhile & see where that takes you. {good luck}
Watch my babys daddy "look what john left behind a big brown goldfish" make funny faces and funny songs up i hope its not hard my little sister always says bye bye pee pee and flushes the toilet try that
