I took saw palmetto about a month ago to combat acne and never ever before had I been worried about my hairline or anything, my hair was thick, wavy, and full of life. Within 2 weeks of taking the saw palmetto or so I noticed that my hair was falling out like crazy and my hair was dull, flat, coarse, and straight. I've heard of the 'shedding' that occurs now that I've looked into it but this shedding is all over, not just the scalp. Could the saw palmetto have caused this.

Saw Palmetto is actually known to have to opposite effect on hair loss.. however everybody reacts different to herbal supplements. Try stopping it for a few weeks and see if the problem goes away. If it does than the Saw Palmetto may be causing it. It's main purpose as a medicinal herb is to treat enlarged prostate but some use it to combat balding as well.
