I am entering the Army without a security clearance because of a juvi record. I hear I can change my MOS after a year of good service. Maybe then I can go into computers or an anlayst position. Can I?
There will be two ways to reclass - reenlistment/BEAR (will have to be within 2 years of ETS to choose this option), and voluntary reclassification. Strengths of the MOS you are leaving and the one you are going into will determine the chances of a voluntary reclassification being approved.
Either way, you will still have to meet the security clearance prerequisites for the new MOS.
25B Computer Systems Operator/Analyst - requires at least Secret
35F Intelligence Analyst - requires at least Interim Top Secret w/ SCI
35G Imagery Analyst - requires at least Interim Top Secret w/ SCI
35H CGS Analyst - requires at least Interim Top Secret w/ SCI
35N SIGINT Analyst - requires at least Interim Top Secret w/ SCI
Your maybe looks more like a probably not, unless you are able to get a clearance after you're in.
