My friend and I are planning to go to the yugioh regionals and probably do the team thing, if we figure out how. Does anyone have any deck ideas/lists, or some idea of what we're going to be up against??
Thanks in advance :D

If you want an easy and not expensive powerful deck then try this Beatdown/Normal Deck:
Total: 40
Monsters: 20
Gene-Warped Warwolf x3
Frostosaurus x2
Cyber-Tech Alligator x3
Great Maju Garzett x1
Luster Dragon x2
Mad Lobster x2
White Horned Dragon x1
Spiral Serpent x1
Summoned Skull x1
Mirage Dragon x1
Magna Drago x1
Jelly Beans Man x2
Spells: 11
Axe of Despair x1
Unite We Stand x1
Mage Power x3
Riryoku x2
Heavy Storm x1
Mystical Space Typhoon x1
Heart of the Underdog x1
Ancient Rules x2
Traps: 7
Trap Jammer x2
Magic Drain x1
Birthright x2
Soul Resurrection x1
Common Charity x2
I suggest mostly Normal Monsters because they are easier to handle and have no negative effects to the controller. Mirage Dragon's good to avoid any powerful Traps like Mirror Force, Magic Cylinder, Sakuratsu Armor, Negate Attack, Draining Shield, etc.
Another reason why I suggest them is because Ancient Rules can Special Summon your high ATK monsters such as Spiral Serpent.
Heart of the Underdog and Common Charity can help you draw more of your reliable cards and get more of your powerful Great Muja Garzett.
Best Beatdown Stategy:
1. Activate Ancient Rules to Special Summon Spiral Sperpent (2900 ATK)
2. Tribute Summon Great Muja Garzett to have it's ATK 5800. Then use Mage Power, Axe of Despair or Unite We Stand on it to gain lots of ATK power.
3. Activate Birthright to revive Spiral Serpent.
4. Both direct attacks (total of 8500 Damage) will be an OTK.
NOTE: Be careful for powerful Trap Cards like Magic Cylinder, Mirror Force, Sakuratsu Armor, Draining Shield, etc. that respond to your attack, so I suggested to use Trap Jammer.
There are no cards in this deck that have a price of $20 or more.
I don't suggest a Tele-DAD deck or any expensive decks cause they can total up to over hundreds of dollars.
Lightsowrn decks are also used becuase they are a Teir 1 deck. They are mainly just swarming with attackers, like Wulf and Foolish Burial.
Tele-Dads might be the main deck. Bringing out Plaguespreader out many times to Synchro and the beating down after using a Crush Card Virus.
Gladiator Beast are fun and good because they can tag out. When they are tagged out, their effects come in and help out alot. You should get use to all of the effects and such so you don't forget to do something when you play, get to know them.
Plants had gotten a lot of support lately because of Crossroads of Chaos. Plants have very strong effects if you play the main decklist with Giga and Blazewing. You will need to play with Gemini monsters which need to summonings to get their effect. Cards like Double Summon and Ultimate Offering can get their effect same turn, but are costly or hard to pull out of a 40 card deck. If you play right you can hurt badly.
Spellcasters are what I am playing, especially wiht the help of Tempest Magician now, they are becoming a better type. MAgical Exemplar is back now with the effect of stacking spell counters and burning with Tempest's effect.
Burn decks are also pretty strong nowadays. Playing many magic cards to burn life points. e.x. Meteor of Destruction, Tremendous Fire, Wave Motion Cannon, etc. My friend uses trap cards mostly like Secret Barrel and cards to draw more like Reckless Greed and Accumulated fortune to chain. Chaining is what burns the most with his deck.
in my view i might substitute + one million lumina + 3 honest + one million Necro + one million photograph voltaic Recharge + one million silly - one million ehren - one million Jain - one million Shire - one million Magical Cylinder - 2 Lightsworn Barrier - one million Monster Recarnation additionally might wanna artwork on extra beneficial deck yet would not quite rely.
