What will cause a baby to not be able to sleep at night? I believe she's colic or acid reflux and the dr has put her on medicine to see if it helps. At night time the only time she will sleep is if she's in a burping position. She will not lay down and if I do she spits up and a lot of nights she's up from midnight to 6am. What does it sound like? I really want to help her because I know something bothers her at night. She 8 weeks and any info will help .plz and thank you

it could be either or it could be an upset tummy/tummy ache, my newborn has an upset tummy right now and will only fall asleep in a slightly seated position (like the burping position) and when i put her down she cries because laying on her back makes her tummy hurt more.
if you need to talk to health care professionals without speaking to a doctor you can go to www.cowandgate.co.uk and speak to a health care advisor there on the live chat for free of charge 9am-5pm mon-fri (except bank holidays) and they will be able to provide you with advice.
Below are some links with info on both colic and acid reflux maybe if you read through them you might be able to determine which one your baby is suffering with
