Do interracial couples (Indian + caucasian) face discrimination in USA/CANADA/UK?
Just wondering because in Trinidad, when people marry outside their race, they are sometimes are shunned,it's rare today, but it still happens sometimes.
A lot of people really don't care but there are cases here in the US where interracial couples can be judged a lot. Some white families are very against black & white dating. Some black women don't like black men with other women of other race. Asians & Indians are pretty strict culture wise, so sometimes they are VERY against it. It depends on the family & how they were raised culture wise. I'd say like 60% of people don't care & 40% of people do. Some may disagree & this isn't supposed to be racist because it really is just a handful of people who get offended by it. I personally think love is love & it shouldn't be defined by a person's skin color.
Not at all. I live in the US and I'm half white half Asian, no one gives a crap about my parents. I've never heard of anything like that where I live. Sure some people are racist, but no one will shun you if you date someone of another race.
Not really, anymore. For 40 years the 'interracial' relationship has become so common, most people here hardly see it. I'm sure that someone somewhere here would take offense or be offensive but if they do it in public, everyone around them would tell them to shut up & mind their own business.
Nope, but people still often times choose to marry their own race. In the UK I know for a fact that white guys will often avoid marrying desi girls. But those who do; don't face any discrimination for it.
