I'm taking a media-arts course which in voles making movies, commercials, adobe photo shop... The graphic stuff. its only a grade 11 course but i need a new computer to work with this course and for the future. The deal was for 699.99 i get a HP Amd Atholon 2.80 ghz dual processor with Nvida 7150gt graphic card. On this deal i get a 21.6 inch Samsung Monitor. The other was a HP Quad core AMD athlon 2.20ghz, Nvida Geforce 9150(stronger than the dual). For 599.99. (no Monitor with this one). They both come with 3gb DDR ram and 500gb hard drive space. Which is the better choice for me?

In one sense, you can have the dual-core because, for graphics design, making & editing movies you need high power graphics card, high capacity RAM and wide screen monitor, the Dual-core processor is enough to work well & you are not getting benefits from quad-core, as long as the programs' (like adobe, macro media) instruction codes are written in parallel by the company.
on the other sense, buying high configured computer will benefits you by giving a long time of use without upgrading your computer parts.
i'd get the one with the monitor included. that monitor alone would cost you $250 if you have to buy it separately
quad core is overkill for what you're doing
