Can you talk to them untill you gain hearts?
i cant do the rub thing because im using a wii emulator and i tried it couldnt move liek that and ive been giving chase what he like "good gift" not BEST GIFT for like 14 days and i still havent have one heart D:
Update:Can you talk to chase till you gain a heart? I tried giving gift he likes like in fogu said "good gift" since im too poor to give best gift and im using an emulator so i cant do the rub thing D: and ive been giving him gift for 14 days straight and no heart still D:

Giving good gifts and not being able to rub is what's making it take so long. But if you don't give him anything it will take ages. Any gift even if he barely likes it is better then no gift at all. It is going to take a long time to gain hearts, but just keep giving him gifts. Hopefully you'll be able to get a favorite of his.
I doubt it.
It does take a long time to get effection up... Find something he loves.
