No idea, but why is it saying 'NO BOOTABLE DEVICE'
Where is the hard drive, and if the hard drive is there, just re-install it.
Unless I mis-understood your question.
Your hard drive is probably bad, When you see the Compaq/HP splash screen press the F10 button on your keyboard. This will take you into the bios, there is a Hard drive diagnostic test in there, run that.
