You would definitely get better performance, but are you sure that your motherboard will handle the higher fsb? I'd have to double check, but I think the lowest fsb for a core 2 duo is 1066. Of course, there are faster Pentiums that will fit a 775 board with an 800 fsb. I ran a e5200 for a while that would perform substantially faster than what you have and they are pretty cheap now. ( and it would overlclock to 3.75, it was a great cpu).

You've got the reply, intel core 2 duo.And intel pentium twin-core processor both are pentiums. Is like intel pentium dual-core #1 and inetel pentium twin-core #2 N2 is quick.
