Weight does impact an oral contraceptive's effectiveness. Be especially careful of weighing more than is considered "normal" for your height with low dose. I know that they can even be less effective if you don't take them at the same time each day.
I am not sure about that one in particular but I imagine it would. I know some are less effective if you are over 150-155 pounds. I would talk to a pharmist or my doctor to make sure. It might not hurt to ask for the regular dose.

I use the low dose pills and I don't think that would lower the effectiveness, but I am not sure.
Ask your Gyn to be sure.
