I think Miguel Cotto could have been really great. Thats loss to Margacheato who beat him with plaster for 12 rounds damaged him. He has never been the same and i have no doubt he would beat Oscar and possibly get a KO.
I Think Miguel Cotto Would Win Because Before The Margarito Fight He Stopped Zab Judah In The 11th Round, Beat Shane Mosley, TKO Carlos Quintana And Alfonzo Gomez In 5 Rounds, And Out Boxed Paulie Malignaggi. And De La Hoya Was A VERY Good Fighter But Still She Lost To Shane Mosley Twice And Felix Trinidad In his Prime.
Honestly I think a prime Oscar could have defeated a non Margaritto beaten Cotto. Look at the facts I feel that Trinidad was a better fighter than Cotto and De La Hoya arguably beat Trinidad in a classic fight so many years ago. However lets not forget that a prime Hoya was taller and had a superior reach to go along with a solid chin. Either way this fight would have been great!
This question has been asked two weeks ago(without involving Margarito). Before or after the bout against Margarito, I go towards Cotto to win by KO at late 6th round or 7th round. Cotto's signature body shot is the key. On Oscar's final bouts, I noticed he can't endure body shot anymore unlike when he was younger.

So I Think The Score Cards Would Be:
COTTO: 9 10 10 10 10 9 10 10 10 10 10 9 = 117
DE LA HOYA: 10 9 9 9 9 10 9 9 9 9 9 10 = 111
