You should forget Norton completely and get AVG. It's better than Norton and it blocks more virus. Google a trial for that one.

Download Free Determination MX at www.proactivepatrol.com and run a scan and repair. I have had pretty good luck with it when my computer was doing the same thing, it found several problems.
