urban style photos in LA?
I want to shoot some photos for a fashion store in LA.
I'm new to town and I really don't know where to go.
I want city like, urbal feel of atmosphere..
not too bustling with people but nice architecture
or very pretty cottage like houses
or any clean and nice looking neighborhoods..
I know downtown is good-
but does anyone know of any specific street
or a specific place where its neat to take pictures?

What about the Wiltern? That's pretty cool. Or just about anything on Wilshire. Great art deco archiecture between downtown and Beverly Hills.
Larchmont area has cool houses.

(I'm not associated with these folks, but did see a photo shoot get shut down right in the middle. The photog started to put up a stink, and the cops started treating him like he was bin Laden. Moral of the story: Get a permit.)
hmmm, I have taken pictures all over greater LA with tripods and a commercial looking set up and never even knew a permit was required for professionals stills, and never had ANYONE SAY ANYTHING TO ME ABOUT IT...
I am going to guess you are shooting for some kind of urban pioneer/Ed Hardy type fashion and not some high end Rodeo Dr. type fashions....I would go to the northwest fringes of downtown (near the old trolley tunnel). I think you could get some good pics there. (Hint--take some BIG guys with you---LOL)....Good shooting, hope you get good light....
You can try the "Angelino Heights" area between Sunset and Temple Streets near Douglas, west of Downtown; and yes just like the person mentioned above watch out for the Photo Police.
