Window AC no longer cools?
Ive had this ac for about 4years and recently it has started cooling the room less and less. My 1 year old sweats in his sleep and now that we are having a heat wave its decided to just quit on me. I was wondering whether its financially better to have a pro look at it and fix it or just buy a new one. Any help would be appreciated.
Update:the unit was originally like $149 but i waited till the end of the summer and bought it on clearance for $50. Gonna be hard to top that price!!

How much did the unit cost when you bought it? Sounds to me like it is low on freon, but it does get rather expensive to have an A/C unit 'recharged' with freon, service call + freon itself. It may be cheaper just to replace the entire unit!
It probably needs a freon recharge.
