Birth Control Problems?

Okay so im taking birth control pills called Low Ogestrol and i noticed that since ive taken it ive gained alot of weight in the belly area my mom thought i was pregnant and the shirts i put on u can see my belly like crazy i took this pill before about a year ago and i never gained weight like this ... is it the pill or could be that i am just eating unhealthy and i should try to excercise??
