To answer your question about is it possible the answer is yes and no. You cannot blue it with the cold bluing solutions. You can blue it with a hot bluing solution but it is not exactly the same color as a blued rifle. It is more of a black color instead of a blue. An example of what the finish looks like is the slide of a M&P. There are companies online that offer stainless steel bluing services and the prices ranged from 125-200 dollars for frames only.
The easiest way to make the frame blue would be to either use Cerakote or Duracoat.
Well that depends on what you call blue. Do you want blued or a Blue tint. Either way Duracoat finish will do. You really can not blue, as in blued, stainless steel. Robar finally found a way to make stainless steel black, looking like it was blued. It is costly.
Years ago I had a S&W 686 4" blued stainless. It was beautiful. They made about 5000 of them. Every time I think of that pistol I am sorry I sold it. It was an irredecent black/blue.
Look into one of the "spray on" coatings. I have used Duracoat and have been well pleased. There are many others, and a quick "google" of "weapons coating" will yield a lot of suggestions.

You could probably use Duracoat or Cerakote.
Duracoat sells a color called "Colt Gray." Idk if that's what you want though.
Call Colt. They will probably blue the frame for you.
