Ive been learning German for about a week and I'm a bit confused about somthing. I know genitive case is for having somthing for example das auto des mann ist in Berlin would be correct. But does the same rule with the des and der apply to "haben" in a nutshell, which sentence is right?
Ich habe das auto or ich habe des auto.

Das Auto des Mannes ist in Berlin.
Der Mann hat das Auto in Berlin.
you have to decline the noun: the genitive, das Auto des Mannes. The man's car.
some verbs like haben require the accusative: Der Mann hat das Auto. The man has the car.
some verbs like geben require the dative: Er gibt dem Mann das Auto. He gives the car to the man.
I had same problem , but I learn it here easily , I hope helps you .
