Intel HD graphics 4000 vs Nvidia geforce?
So my gaming will go as far as sims 3, maybe sims 4 when it comes out, simcity 2013 and stuff like that. I have the chance to buy a laptop NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M or Intel HD Graphics 4000. Obviously the NVIDIA would be much much better but is so much more expensive. For the gaming I use it for, how important or how crucial is for me to have NVIDIA GeForce? I currently own a laptop with Intel HD Graphics 4000 and I played it just fine, not ULTIMATE graphics but very decent ones. So for that kind of gaming that I use it for, NVIDIA is a must? eventhough is much more expensive? or Intel HD Graphics 4000 would do the job? (not a crappy one but decent)

I have heard a lot of good feedbacks about the HD 4000, far more better than the 3000.
If you are just going to play games on the level of The Sims, then the HD 4000 should be fine, as long as you have good CPU and enough RAM. But if you want to play higher games (like LFD, RE6, Black Ops II ...), although the graphics will still be fine, but the GeForce might be a better choice.

The intel HD graphics isnt made for gaming just dont play intensive games like Battlefield 3, Crysis 3 or CoD but a discrete graphics card would always be better you might get better performance out of the 640 or 740 than the intel gpu
I'm sorry to tell you but none of this matters because you can't upgrade the graphics card in a laptop. Sadly there is nothing you can do other than buy a new laptop.
