I got my loan through Quicken about 2 years ago and they immediately sold it to two different companies (1st to GMAC and the 2nd to another co.). I don't think they were hurt during the down-turn since they don't seem to hold too many of the loans they write.

Be sure to shop around. Loan rates and fees seem to change almost daily. Money is tight but it is still a very competitive market.
