The glass on my MacBook Pro is cracked. The LCD is fine. It's just the glass, but the computer store I brought my laptop to, told me that I have to get both the LCD and the glass replaced (which is really expensive), because that's how new Macs are made. Is this true or is he just trying to get over on me? My laptop was made in early 2011 if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance!
Update:I'm typing on the laptop right now. It's far from dead. Its just that there is a big crack running down the screen! Someone told me that I can get the glass replaced for about $50. The LCD, however, will run me about $300.

How do you use your laptop. If you use it like a desktop then get an external monitor to hook into it. About the screen, they are charging you a ridiculously high price with a huge markup but you can sometimes find a computer shop that can replace screens for like 150 bucks.
Take it to a repair shop or store
u have to replace it. If u cant see anytin on it, it's dead.
