I recently bought a laptop and installed Windows Media Player 11 on it. I have the same version and everything on my desktop. The problem is, when I watch movies in full screen mode on my desktop everything is fine, but when i watch the EXACT same file on my laptop in full screen mode, the sides of it are cut off. Can anyone tell me how i can stretch the video to fit my screen? I've tried everything under the view menu i can think of.... If anyone knows how to help out it would greatly be appreciated. Best answer goes to the person who solve it first, or suggests something that leads to fixing it. Thanks all.
Update:both the desktop and laptop are widescreen

Sounds like you may have a widescreen on your laptop, but not on your desktop. Check your screen settings and adjust the resolution.
Is your desktop monitor widescreen? This seems to obvious of a solution, but if your desktop is not widescreen (your laptop is), then the problem is that you're watching 4:3 movies on a 16:9 screen, which is why they won't fill it.
Please let me know as soon as possible and I will suggest another course of action if this is not the case.
