Can anyone decode car cd players serial codes?
I got a Saab 93 for Christmas and it came with a tape player installed but with a CD player that can be installed. But when I try to put the CD player in it asks for a code which I don't know. I've heard that you can take it to the dealer and they can sort it out but they charge you. But I'm praying that someone here might know how to do it for free. The serial code is YS1784V1000172 and it's a Saab 93. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And also if anyone knows, how do you enter the code?

SAAB do not make radios .They only affix their badge onto radios made by the large manufacturers (ALPINE , BLAUPUNKT etc).
In order to attempt to calculate your code , the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard
Then please supply your radio MAKE+MODEL plus ALL the NUMBERS+LETTERS on ANY LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING
