I have an HP computer with Vista I can turn the power button on and the computer powers up but it will not go any where like the hard drive is not working. I have no idea what is wrong with it
Is the monitor on and plugged into the computer, also check on the back of the computer and make sure the little slidder button is turned to the aproporiate side (most likelt 115V). Otherwise take it into Geek Squad or other computer place like that.
Check for weird, unusual sounds, if there are any, that signifies a HDD problem. And you might also want to check your beeps, you should get a short beep shortly after you start your computer.

Same thing happened to me. I dumped water all over the keyboard and it destroyed the motherboard. I had to send it in and get it replaced.
Call up HP and ask them to send you a box. If you have warranty and its their fault the computer is screwing up then they'll fix it for free.

Good Luck :-)
It must got the virus or spyware. It too late now you can't do any thing, but buy a new vista software(expensive).
Wipe the HDD and reinstall the OS
If you dont hear the 'post' beep when you turn it on then your motherboard is toast.
