Yes, Chrystal is expensive because it is one of the premier top level cruise lines. Chrystal has just two ships but they are small in comparison to the major cruise lines like Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, etc. BUT since the ships have fewer than 1,000 passengers they give superior service.. They also have more amenities included in the price of the cruise like bigger and better cabins with balconies, complementary wine or champaign with dinner and a staff that goes overboard, so to speak, to please and meet guests every need.
Cruises START in the neighborhood of $4,000 for a 7 day cruise. Since the ships are smaller they cruise to some ports that the bigger cruise lines do not go to.
CRYSTAL cruise lines are well worth it if you can afford that. Personally i would choose the Yachts of Seabourne being that the alcohol and gratuities are all included. Crystal is nice also depending on the age group. The average age is about 60. Oceania is also one you may want to consider. GREAT ships, outstanding service and some really unique itineraries.
They are more expensive, but lt is well worth it. You will be hard pressed to surpass the service and the ships are nice too. To sum it all up...........You get what you pay for. I can see no reason that your parents would not be happy. Good luck and Enjoy!
