Not many surgeons specialize in hernia surgeries. This is a common surgery they often start out with when they are training and are most often done by a general surgeon. General surgeons often do colon surgeries as well, so it is likely the same doctor could and would repair her hernia.
No ! what you want is a general surgeon. A general surgeon will
repair hernia's as well as take out tonsils. or remove gallbladder or appendix Your primary care doctor will be able to recommend one.
If your primary care doctor can not do this get a new primary care
doctor.
The doctors have a list on a regular basses for all the doctors in
your area.
Go and ask! Since you are already an established patent, he may be more than willing to do it.
Recently, I had a mole on my arm, and I asked by wife's cancer surgeon to remove it, which he did. I wanted him because I knew and trusted him.
I don't blame you for wanting the same doctor. You know him and you are all comfortable with him. So, why not!
