Gas powered scooter laws?
I want to get a gas powered scooter but I want to know I there are any laws I should know of like: are they legal in ny? Do you need any licenses or license plates?how old do u have to be to ride one?

You cannot get your answer until you say if you are talking about a "gas powered scooter" AKA a Go-Ped, or a "gas powered scooter" AKA a Honda Metropolitan.

Ordinarily a 125 or 250 cc scooter is required for throughway use, it has to be capable to maintain expressway speeds, the small ones can not, so there fore are banned from highway use.
