well if your talking about Ani-Mondays Gurren Lagann and Here and Now... have not played since two weeks ago. Last week was Read Or Die movie, tonight is Street Fighter Alpha: Generations. I myself was looking forward to those episodes too and Im just gonna watch the subs on Veoh.com
Out of the series that I've seen that are dubbed, here is my recommendations: 1. Cowboy Bebop - It's regularly voted as the best anime of all time. And, yes, it deserves the title. It follows four space cowboys (bounty hunters) and their dog who have lots of adventures and misadventures. Spike Spiegel is a martial artist with a devil may care personality, Faye is a honky tonk woman who isn't much of a lady, Jet is older and calmer, Ed is more than a little crazy but she's (yes, she) a genius hacker, and Ein is a "data dog" and potentially the smartest one on the ship, the Bebop. The episodes mostly can stand on their own; however, there is a plot, where Spike's complicated past catches up with him while Faye's past is forgotten and she's struggling with that. Note that Sunrise, the creators, have supposedly said that the Cowboy Bebop dub, in English, is much better than the original Japanese. Also, they are planning on making Cowboy Bebop into a live action movie, supposedly with Keanu Reeves (which, might end badly), so it's good to see the original before they could potentially screw it up (hopefully, you'll see it to see where they got this good movie from, if they make it good). 2. Baccano! - It's a story with no main character, no beginning and ending, and no main plot. Baccano! has all of those mashing together, mainly in 1930's Depression Era New York City. There are the events of 1930, where Firo Prochenezo is moving up in his mafia family, 1931, where a massacre happens aboard the transcontinental express train, the Flying Pussyfoot, and 1932 where Eve Genoard is looking for her long lost brother. Characters all collide with each other, events are told repeatingly from different prospectives, showing new things and the story is just great. The Funimation dub is really good at capturing the accents of 1930's America, and you'll love it. 3. Darker Than Black - It's complicated, with a world that is essentially ours but something strange happened. Their world became surrounded by something, blocking out everything and placing fake stars in the sky. These stars represent the lives of the Contractors, super powered people who can use their powers in exchange for preforming and OCD act. Also, they lose emotional irrationality in exchange for complete rationality. It follows the Contractor BK-201, or Hei, or Lee depending on your preference of names. It's a very good dub, if you ask me, and it's a really good anime regardless. 4 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Basically, G-d is a Japanese schoolgirl who is kind of weird. She starts her own club, devoted to solving supernatural phenomena (or, that's it appears to be: The anime character don't really understand it either), and she is unaware that her mood can shift the status of the world. If she gets mad, she can cause Armaggedon. Conveniently, the guy she dragged into everything, Kyon, is assisted by the time traveller Asahina, the psychic Koizumi, and the alien Yuki, all subconsciously brought together by Haruhi, to prevent this. The dub is really good. 5. Last Exile - It's a steampunk anime, that follows two pilots, Klaus and Lavie. They are charged with delivering this girl, Al, to a famous captain and are dragged into a war that gets them over their heads. The dub is also really good. 6. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood - FMA above, with mostly the same cast, but it's a different story about after Hughes dies. If you saw this one, but not the original FMA, then watch the original. It has a few different characters, and Al's voice is not the same in both, but most other character's are. 7. Axis Powers Hetalia: Funimation seems to have done a decent job on this one, where the voices are the stereotypical ones we expect. It's a great job, where I would believe every voice comes from each country. Even China's, which is horribly suited for that character. 8. Outlaw Star - It's old, and it follows the adventures of five outlaws in space. I really liked the voices from it, and it's a great story, where is sci-fi but has some elements of magic. 9. When They Cry - Basically, this one is about some kids who go insane and start killing their friends and family. Their world resets, and who ever goes insane changes in each world. It turns out to be more complex than it let's on, and it's really good. Unfortunately, only the first season is dubbed. 10. Elfen Lied- A girl has two sides to her: One that is out to kill all of humanity, and the other who is sweet, and retarded. It's a really sad, but really great, anime.
