I need help figuring out Hemingways tone in the Sun Also Rises. I believe that its categorizes as sorrow-fear-worry tone. Like somber aggravated dejected adjectives in this category. I also believe his style (diction = improper language which gives us the idea of the tone) also the dialogue is detached. I need three textual examples. I thought at the end when Jake comforts brett, possibly the fight. But i still feel lost. I really need help!! Any ideas!!! please help! I need to figure out hemingways tone using 3 specific examples and offer insight on style!! I'm not asking anyone to do this homework for me! but ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

You are on the right track. I definitely felt the tone was detached and hopeless. I don't remember all the specifics of the book. Just look for examples of detachment and hopelessness, which is basically everything in the book. :) Good luck!
