heyyy, i have suffered from dental phobia for as long as i can remember - im only 17 but that's long enough for me!
its torture it takes me weeks to actually make an appointment and then when i do i normally cancel. i feel so silly because im just so helpless sat there shaking and virtually crying, sometimes i cant even sit in the chair so have to go home without my teeth being looked at!
i don't know why im like this because my dentist is great and tries his best and ive never had a bad experience before but im just so scared :/
its soon going to be new year and as one of my resolutions i want to overcome it with the help of a friend who has agreed to help me! the only thing is i have no idea what to do so any suggestions would be great :)
thank you in advance :)

if you really like your dentist and he doesn't hurt you, just remember he doesn't want to hurt you ever. he may be able to administer nitrous oxide to help relax you or provide a RX for something to relax you before you even get to the office.
I had a huge phobia, so huge it actually consumed up a lot of my time, thinking about it. The 2 weeks before I had my wisdom's out, I felt like life was coming to an end. It was absolutely horrible. When I went into the dentist, I felt like throwing up. I was a complete wreck. They said I could wait 30 minutes, before my operation, which I did, which didn't help. Then I went under sedation. The thing was literally over before I knew it. I was laughing and smiling afterward, because it was that easy. If you have a huge phobia, you can get sedated even for minor dentistry. Just ask for it! It's a bloody miracle! It seems weird how I could have been that scared, over nothing.
