Take the First Capital Connect train from Gatwick to Farringdon

At Farringdon change to the Hammersmith & City underground line towards Barking (you may have to change to a District Line at Whitechapel depending on the time of day)

Get off at East Ham and Essex Road is a 5 minute walk. Up High Street North, 6th turning on the right Shelley Avenue. Essex Road is the first turning on the left.

It might be quicker to take the train from Gatwick to London Bridge, Jubilee Line to West Ham, then District Line to East Ham. However, this has more changes and longer walks between train.

There are 14 Essex Roads in London, but I am going to assume it's Essex Road N1.

The train from Gatwick to Kings Cross takes about an hour and costs £8.90 per person. A taxi from Kings Cross would cost another £7/8. Link below to check train times.

An airport taxi would probably cost nearly £100 from the airport. If you have loads of luggage this can be a good option.

National Express (link below) would drop you in Victoria, but there would be a further distance to travel to Essex road than Kings Cross. The journey time is 1 hour 40 minutes.

Get a Southern Travelcard not a Gatwick Express or First Capital Connect one. Costs a few pounds cheaper and only takes 5 mins extra on the Southern Fast services from Platform 4 at Gatwick.

Alternatively, if you mean how do you get from Gatwick to Essex by road then, M23,M25,A12, via the Dartford tunnel.

Avoid the public transport, which is just unacceptable in this country. Order a cab in advance - try to look for "airport transfer London" on Google, you will have a private car and a driver who will pick you up, and if there is 3 of you or more you will save money compared to you taking the mass transport.

Essex Road where? London is a big city and probably has dozens, if not more Essex Road's in different postal areas. If it is in the heart of London your starting point will be the National Express from Gatwick to London.

Well, take the Gatwick Express straight in to Victoria station.

Change for the Northbound Victoria Line underground train for King's Cross - St Pancras.

Change at King's Cross - St Pancras for a Southbound Northern Line underground train for Angel.

At Angel, exit the station. As you leave the station, turn right, and keep walking up the road until you come to Islington Green (approx 3 minutes). Essex Road is the right-hand fork in the road.

right, go to tfl.gov and thats the website for travel in london using all the travel facilities. probably tube(underground train) might be confusing for you so take a bus. ask any bus driver about where you want to go.
