xbox to computer?
i am buying a 360 soon and i know for live..u must hook up the 360 to the routher using the ethernet cable...but i dont understand why people say...hook up the 360 to the computer? i thought i hook it up to the router....

if you have a laptop with wireless internet you can also hook it up to that
You would hook it up to your computer if you don't have a ethernet jack free on your modem/router. My modem only has one ethernet connection. So my option was to ether go wireless with the xbox or go wireless with my computer. Sense my computer has built in wireless its pretty simple. The dumb thing is my wireless antenna is like 2 inches away from the wireless modem. Then I have my 25 ft Ethernet cable going from the Xbox to the modem. But before I had this all set up, i had to go through my computers wireless to get online.
I connect my 360 to my router. It works fine for me, and is lag free.
360 > Router > Cable Modem > Wall Jack.
I believe that xbox.com has some videos about connections also.
