An evap line is usually gray, or simply transparent. You can see it in certain lights, at certain angles, but otherwise it is very hard to detect. A "pregnant" line has color.

A true positive will last forever, evap lines can disappear within 48 hours some don't disappear. They are usually skinny, very faint, or a shadow line/ clear where the line should be.

And yes what you describe there is an evap line. I still have my positive pregnancy test from July. They are still positive.
