So I have a 96 Dodge 2500 with the 12v cummins in it. I just replaced both axles and some other random stuff nothing to do with the electrical system though. I went to start the truck and it has two new batteries. It was cold and it cranked about 3 times and then all the power to anything in the truck was dead. Absolutely nothing works. check the battery cables first on it,i have seen brand new battery's go dead instantly ,when a cell goes bad in one it does exactly what yours just done,also check the main ignition fuse for it,that or the ignition switch just went dead on it,check all the fuses for it first though,and be sure and check all the main ground wires on it,good luck
