I am in pretty good shape and have lifted on/off for years. I am trying to get a lot more serious and really improve on my shape and strength. Can anyone give me advice on leg workouts? I am trying to improve overall strength and explosiveness and condition them as well. Any advice would be great.

If you go to the gym there are a lot of great machines that can help you target specific muscles in your legs. Also one I like is like a backwards sit-up, if you lay on top of the back extension rack machine and then lift yourself up from the waist so your straight then lower yourself back down (you can hold a weight to make it more difficult) it works both your lower back and your legs!
I also find being on an elliptical and turning up the resistance high or walking on in incline (on a treadmill or hiking outdoors) is also a great way to really feel your legs work out.
There is also the normal squats, lunges, etc (which you can make more difficult by holding free weights) and can be done at home.
Squats with weight, calf raises, lunges, etc. if you want really explosive workout that helps with jumping and sprinting, do a lot of split jumps (lunge with one leg, come up and jump as high as you can, switch legs in mid air, land and repeat. Lunge an all) and you can do bunny hops while holding a plate in both arms (squat, jump as far as you can, land, squat again, jump again, etc.) and do a whole bunch of running/bike riding. It shoul burn when you sit and get up, that's when you know you're doing a good job
surya namaskar, lunges, squats!
